Accidents and medical emergencies can happen at any time and if you needed an ambulance to treat you and take you to hospital, the last thing you'd want to worry about is the cost.
Medicare does not cover ambulance costs, so without the right insurance you would be expected to pay these fees yourself.
To put this in perspective, a simple 10km trip in NSW would cost around $390, while the same trip in Perth would cost about $916.
A waiting period of one day applies to Emergency Ambulance cover.
