Safeguarding your information
At UniHealth, data security and member privacy are a top priority. Here’s how we protect your information.
Data collection
All private health funds are legally required to retain certain member information for a set period of time. In many cases it’s for seven years, sometimes longer. This rule applies to data relating to current and former members of the fund.
Our Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice explain what information we collect and why. They also detail the scenarios in which we’re obliged to disclose member information.
Security measures
We have a number of systems and safeguards in place to protect member data, including regular security testing across our website, app, and communications channels to ensure they’re secure and safe to use.
Following the highly distressing Medibank cyber attack, and the previous Optus event, we’ve increased our testing activity and are closely monitoring developments across the cyber security landscape.
