Can you join UniHealth?

UniHealth is open to the higher education community and their families. Read on to see if you can join.

Higher education community

Are you an academic, general and professional staff, or research staff member and a member of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU)? Or were you in the past?

If your answer is 'yes', then you’re eligible to join UniHealth.

Family members

If you're lucky enough to be related to someone who can join UniHealth (who meets the above criteria), you can join the fund too.

This includes:

spouse/partner (current or former)
dependant child(ren)
adult child – and their partner and/or dependant child(ren)
sibling – and their partner and/or dependant child(ren)
grandchild – and their partner and/or dependant child(ren)
parent or parent-in-law.

No 2 & 6 month waits on Extras*

Simply join with any Extras cover by 31 July and skip the 2 & 6 month waits on Extras like general dental, optical and physio.

*Eligibility criteria and conditions apply. Offer is available until 31 July 2024 to i) new members who join UniHealth with Hospital & Extras cover, or with a combined cover, or with Extras cover only, and ii) current members of UniHealth who upgrade their Extras Cover to a higher level of cover, or add Extras to their existing Hospital cover or Ambulance cover, and iii) a spouse or dependant who is added to an existing UniHealth policy.
