You’re not alone
Experiencing depression or anxiety (or both), can be isolating. We’re committed to helping eligible UniHealth members get the support they need through their journey*.
The first step begins with a quick phone call with one of our experienced health professionals. They’ll ask you a few questions to understand where you’re at, and if the programs are likely to be beneficial (and safe) for you. They'll also confirm your eligibility for the programs.
Mental Health Coaching
This program is delivered by Healthcare Services in tandem with our specialist mental health partner Valion Health. The Mental Health Coaching Program might be right for you if:
- You’re looking for support to manage mental health symptoms or a diagnosis; and
- You can be supported safely and appropriately through a telehealth service; and
- You have an ongoing relationship with a GP, Psychologist and/or Psychiatrist; and
- You’re 18 years or older; and
- You meet the clinical eligibility criteria (and not the exclusion criteria) which is discussed during your first phone call with us; and
- You’re a UniHealth member with Hospital cover, paid up to date, with the 2-month waiting period served.
How it works
This program offers regular support from a mental health coach and nurse to help individuals develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills to build positive thinking and behaviours. The program aims to complement (not replace) the care provided by an individual’s current treatment team, such as psychologist, psychiatrist and/or GP.
Wellbeing4Life Program
How it works
Wellbeing4Life provides support to eligible members who’ve been diagnosed with a mental health condition by providing tailored care through a range of psychology, occupational therapy and social work services.
Wellbeing4Life is delivered to UniHealth members by Healthcare Services in partnership with our specialist mental health services provider, Mind Australia.
Together, we’ll connect you with a mental health professional, who’ll complete a comprehensive assessment and put together a care plan customised just for you with the care you need.
Treatment and support can be delivered in different ways, depending on what best suits your situation, either clinic appointments or via telehealth.
Eligibility
The Wellbeing4Life program may be right for you if:
- You’ve been diagnosed with a mental health condition.
- You’ve had an overnight hospital stay for your mental health in the past 12 months or you need support to reduce the likelihood a future hospital admission.
- You can safely engage in community-based care and don’t currently need crisis support.
- You’re under the ongoing care of a GP or psychiatrist.
- You’re 18 years or older.
- You’re a UniHealth member with Top Hospital cover, paid up to date and have served the 2-month waiting period for mental health services.
