Can I claim for blood glucose or blood pressure monitors via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim for blood glucose or blood pressure monitors, you need to be on Top Extras with any applicable waiting period served.
Products
You may be able claim towards monitors that are:
- TGA-approved
- Purchased from a registered Australian business with a physical presence in Australia.
Please note that you can’t claim towards the costs of accessories or hiring a device.
Claiming
When submitting your claim, please include:
- Completed Aids and Appliances form signed by your doctor (this will be valid for 12 months, after which you'll need to submit another form to claim this benefit)
- Itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the machine).
Limits
Like most services under the Artificial Aids & Appliances benefit, Blood pressure monitors and Blood glucose monitors have an annual sub-limit (maximum amount you can claim).
