Can I claim for crutches via Extras cover?
If you are on Top Extras cover with any applicable waiting period served.
You may be able to claim towards hiring or purchasing:
- crutches
- knee scooter
- rollator
- walking frame
- walker/wheelie walker
- walking stick
- white cane.
Claiming
Like most services under the Artificial Aids & Appliances benefit, Crutches has an annual sub-limit (maximum amount you can claim). In this case there are separate limits for purchasing and hiring a device.
You can check your remaining limits via our member app or Online Member Services.
When submitting your claim, please include an itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the device).
